Immortals, the LCS franchise owned by Immortals Gaming Club, has partnered with GameStop and Ironclad Performance Wear.
The company will host an official kickoff event ahead of its return to the North American league with activations from both partners.
The Immortals season kickoff event is set to crop up January 13th at Button Mash, a Los Angeles-based vintage arcade bar in the Echo Park neighborhood. Fans will have the opportunity to socialise with Immortals players over a night of “retro arcade games, exclusive promo swag, giveaways, and unique activations.”
The partnership with GameStop promises an emphasis on the amateur community where fans can participate in a blend of “exclusive content and special access” activations for League of Legends.
Specialty glove manufacturer Ironclad Performance Wear will activate a ‘handy’ collaboration arriving first at Immortals’ January event. The company has produced a gaming glove designed alongside professional players and tested across the IGC family of teams. The performance glove is said to “increase speed and performance by managing sweat, temperature and fatigue.”
Those on-site at the kickoff party will be able to try a prototype of the glove at designated League of Legends gaming stations before it’s made available to the public with both Immortals and MIBR branding later in 2020.
Jun Xu, President at Ironclad Performance Wear spoke to the company’s position in gaming and its specially-designed glove: “Ironclad gloves are built on innovation, authenticity and quality. Through our partnership with IGC, we worked with professional gamers, embracing those key elements to create a totally new glove category.
“These are exciting times for us to finally bring this glove to market after extensive product development and field testing which took us through uncharted territory. Our hope is that these gloves will allow players to push the envelope of their gameplay performance and endurance, by reducing sweat and fatigue to create a better gaming experience.”The Ironclad PC gloves will be made available to the public next year, produced with both Immortals and MIBR branding.
