North American media company Beasley Media Group has promoted Lori Burgess to the Chief Operating Officer of Beasley Esports.
Prior to fulfilling her newfound role, Burgess functioned as Beasley Media Group’s Chief Digital Content Officer focusing on integrated marketing strategies.
With this transition, Burgess will oversee “day to day operations of the company’s esports business.” The company has an investment in North American organisation Renegades and purchased Overwatch League franchise Houston Outlaws from Immortals Gaming Club last November.
Burgess commented switching over to Beasley Esports in a release: “The esports industry is on the verge of going mainstream. Our timing and expansion into this space will firmly poise Beasley Media Group to own and influence the next generation of consumers. The company’s ability to provide compelling esports content, leverage strategic partnerships and compete at the most elite levels will ensure our foundation as this sector begins to dominate the media and sports-market/entertainment conversation and commands more sponsorship partnerships.”
Burgess boasts over two decades of experience in publishing, “providing generations of profit and growth” for well-known brands such as The Hollywood Reporter, Seventeen Magazine, and Niche Media.
Caroline Beasley, CEO of Beasley Media Group commented on the arrival of Burgess at its esports division: “Lori has done an incredible job overseeing our digital content efforts and leading the company’s esports initiatives over the past year. Her leadership, experience and determination is exactly what we need to drive our company’s success as we continue to grow in the esports space.”
