German organisation FOKUS Clan has established a long-term partnership with international insurance company Zurich.

As part of the deal, Zurich will support FOKUS Clan’s players by providing them with insurance. Content creation is slated to be a major part of the cooperation.
FOKUS Clan’s jerseys are emblazoned with Zurich’s logo as one of the facets of the partnership. The insurance company has Audi, funny-frisch, and OUTFITTER as a partner of the organisation, though financial details of the deal have not been disclosed at the time of writing.

Hanspeter Tinner, Spokesman for FOKUS CLAN, discussed the partnership in a release: “Winning Zurich Insurance as a new strategic partner and official insurer is an enormous development step for us. You only must see how long-term, sustainable and cleverly activated Zurich’s partnerships in classic sports are to get an idea of what we are planning together in the future.

“As the first partner in the esports ecosystem, it is both a pleasure and an incentive for us to give Zurich Insurance a face in the community and tear down the boundaries to classic sports. In this context, we would like to express our sincere thanks to our marketing partner Infront, who recognized this perfect fit between Zurich and us early on.”

Annika Bäcker, Head of Marketing at Zurich, commented: “As sponsor of the Olympic Games and official insurer of TeamD, we have been successfully represented in classic sports marketing for 20 years, so the new partnership is the perfect way to address the gaming affine target group. Passion and innovation – that’s not only what makes e-sports what they are, but also fits in well with the agile pioneering role Zurich plays in the industry.”
