Betting on Sports America – Digital 2020 (BOSA Digital) will feature an eight-track conference focusing on the impact of the rapid post-PASPA growth of the industry, the implications of the Presidential election result, and how operators can adapt to the changing regulatory environment and the tough economic conditions expected in 2021.
The largest dedicated sports betting trade show and conference for the U.S. market, BOSA Digital takes place on Dec. 1-2, 2020 and has switched from a physical event in New Jersey to a virtual one.
As with all of SBC’s successful virtual events series, the centerpiece is the high-level conference.
It will see 130 senior executives and specialists sharing invaluable insights and ideas across an eight-track agenda that addresses the many challenges that must be tackled if the North American sports betting industry is to realize its vast potential.
The event will kick off with William Hill U.S. CEO Joe Asher in conversation with veteran industry analyst Howard Stutz (Executive Editor, CDC Gaming Reports).
The keynote interview forms part of the Betting in Society track, which will examine the industry’s relationship with other sectors and its increasing visibility in the public landscape throughout the United States.
With the event scheduled for just weeks after the 2020 Presidential election, the Regulatory Roundup track is a must-attend.
It will get underway with the Election 2020 – Analysis of the Landscape session, a panel with government affairs representatives, regulators, and industry associations discussing the possible future of the Wire Act and other federal issues in the post-election landscape. The track will also take an in-depth look at developments in New York, New Jersey and other key states.
Another high demand program is the Investment Track, which is sponsored by Truist Financial Corp. and will feature discussions focused on startup companies (What are investors looking for?), and M&A in the sports betting industry.
Sue Schneider, SBC’s VP Growth & Strategy, Americas, said, “We pride ourselves on having relevant topics of discussion and leading experts in those areas for that discourse.
The tracks and speakers we have will not disappoint.
Our timing on the heels of the election allows for the perfect window of opportunity to gauge what the fallout for our industry will be, assuming we have a clear outcome by then.”
Leaders from the lottery landscape wil take center stage as part of the Betting on Regulation track – detailing how to handle key legal and financial issues.
May Scheve Reardon, President of the North American Association of State & Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) will lead a discussion on the role lotteries are taking in regulating and/or operating sports betting in various jurisdictions throughout the U.S.
Joining Scheve on the panel will be lottery executives from Washington DC, West Virginia, New Hampshire and Delaware.
Other tracks that will round out the conference portion of the event include:
● Sports Betting 101 – providing solutions to common problems for new operators
● Betting on Sports – looking at betting’s relationship with sports leagues and teams
● Operations – outlining the latest technical developments for sportsbooks
● Marketing & Affiliation – evaluating how brands can reach sports fans
The full line-up of 130 speakers, comprising operators’ senior executives, regulators, affiliates, suppliers, and advisors, is set to be announced shortly.
The event will also have an interactive product display area where operators will be able to learn about the next generation of products and services from international suppliers, talk to suppliers’ expert teams, and experience the products directly through demos. There will be further opportunities for operators and suppliers to connect in the virtual networking lounge, the meeting rooms in the virtual networking bar, and at the program of themed networking roundtables.
